MINIS FORUM NAS N5 Air Ryzen Mini PC
The MINIS FORUM NAS N5 Air Mini PC, featuring an AMD Ryzen™ 7 255 processor (8 cores / 16 threads), is a compact yet highly capable solution for data storage and management. In this configuration, the device offers 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 64 GB of SSD storage for the operating system, ensuring it is ready to go immediately after startup. The system supports up to 5 3.5" HDDs and 3 M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs simultaneously, so you don’t have to choose between capacity and speed. The system supports a massive amount of storage space—up to 174 TB (depending on the storage media used). Add to that fast 10GbE and 5GbE LAN connectivity, which enables efficient operation on a local network.
Performance and Smooth System Operation
Powering the system is an AMD Ryzen™ 7 255 processor, which, thanks to its 8 cores and 16 threads, handles multitasking well. This allows for simultaneous handling of files, applications, and network services without performance drops. In practice, this means faster data copying, smoother system operation, and stability under heavier loads. The integrated AMD Radeon™ 780M graphics also enables multimedia support, including high-resolution content. This allows the device to serve more purposes than a typical NAS.
RAM and Flexible Expansion
The pre-installed 16 GB of DDR5 RAM is a solid starting point for general computing and basic server applications. At the same time, the device supports memory expansion up to 96 GB, providing ample room for future growth. More RAM translates to better performance when working with multiple users or virtual machines. The design allows for easy access to components, so any upgrades are straightforward. This allows the hardware to grow alongside the user’s needs.
Uncompromising storage space
The configuration of 5 3.5" HDD bays and 3 M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD slots allows you to combine large capacity with high performance. HDDs can serve as the primary data storage, while SSDs accelerate system performance and file access. In this version, 64 GB of SSD storage is allocated to the system, ensuring fast boot times and stable operation. Additional drives can be added as needed to increase storage capacity. RAID 0/1/5/6 support further enhances data security.
Connectivity and Expansion Options
The device offers 10GbE and 5GbE LAN ports, which significantly increase transfer speeds on the local network. This makes working with large files or performing backups more efficient. The presence of an OCuLink port allows for connecting additional high-bandwidth accessories. There is also a PCIe x16 expansion slot (Native PCIe) available, which allows for the installation of additional cards, such as network cards or controllers. This enables the configuration to be adapted to more demanding applications.
Cooling and service-friendly design
Stable operation is ensured by two 92 mm axial fans, which help maintain the proper temperature of the drives and components. This is important during prolonged use, where reliability is key. The slide-out design, featuring a removable motherboard tray, facilitates access to the device’s interior. This makes installing RAM or SSDs simpler and faster. It’s a solution that genuinely simplifies daily use and maintenance.
Ready for various applications
The MINIS FORUM NAS N5 Air can serve as a home file server, a multimedia center, or a workstation. It also works well as a backup solution or for running network applications. Support for systems such as MiniCloud OS, Windows 11 Pro, and Linux offers great flexibility in configuration. This allows the device to be adapted to various usage scenarios. It is a device that combines the functionality of a NAS with the capabilities of a mini PC.
