The GMKTEC M5S combines a compact size with capabilities that are well-suited for both everyday office work and more demanding multimedia applications. The AMD Ryzen 3 5400U processor, along with integrated Radeon Graphics, ensures smooth performance for programs, visual content, and entertainment, while the expandable RAM and two M.2 drive slots provide plenty of room for future upgrades. A wide range of ports, two 2.5 Gb/s LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 make it easy to set up a comfortable workspace with multiple devices and a fast network. Rounding out the package is support for three monitors, an advanced cooling system, and a VESA mount that lets you hide the computer behind a screen to free up more desk space. The model comes with 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB drive.

Ryzen 3 5400U – Power Packed into a Compact Chassis

At the heart of the GMKTEC M5S is the AMD Ryzen 3 5400U processor, equipped with 4 cores and 8 threads, allowing the computer to efficiently handle multitasking and run multiple applications simultaneously. The chip is manufactured using TSMC’s 7-nm FinFET process, utilizes the FP6 package, features 8 MB of L3 cache, and achieves a Boost clock speed of up to 4.0 GHz. Its multi-core performance can be evaluated, among other things, using the Geekbench 6 Multi-Core benchmark. Graphics are handled by an integrated AMD Radeon Graphics chip with 6 graphics cores and a GPU clock speed of up to 1600 MHz, designed for smooth everyday use, multimedia, and entertainment while maintaining high efficiency.

Expandability That Gives You Freedom

The computer is equipped with two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4 3200 MT/s memory, operating in Dual Channel mode. The platform supports DDR4 modules with speeds up to 3200 MT/s, and the maximum memory capacity can reach up to 64 GB in a 2 × 32 GB configuration. The storage options are equally impressive—there are two slots for M.2 2280 SSDs inside, allowing the total storage capacity to reach up to 16 TB. The slot located closer to the DDR memory supports SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4 drives, while the outer slot is designed for PCIe 3.0 x4 drives. This design allows you to tailor the configuration to both basic tasks and work with large files, creative projects, or extensive data archives.

Dual 2.5 Gb/s Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E

Fast file transfers, local network operations, and a stable internet connection are supported by two RJ45 LAN ports, each with a bandwidth of up to 2.5 Gb/s. These are powered by the high-performance Realtek RTL8125 controller, and the dual wired ports expand the computer’s capabilities in an office, a large home network, or an environment requiring low latency. The GMKTEC M5S also supports Wi-Fi 6E with access to the 6 GHz band and wireless transmission speeds of up to 2.4 Gb/s. This technology reduces interference and promotes more stable communication, offering—according to the manufacturer—speeds up to twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6 and 5.5 times faster than Wi-Fi 5. Wireless connectivity is complemented by Bluetooth 5.2, which allows you to conveniently connect compatible accessories and peripherals.

A rich set of ports and three screens

The compact chassis does not mean compromises in terms of available ports. It features two USB 3.2 ports with transfer speeds of up to 10 Gb/s, two USB 2.0 ports up to 480 Mb/s, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack, a USB-C port supporting PD power delivery, DisplayPort video output, and data transfer, as well as a full-size DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, two 2.5 Gb/s LAN ports, and a 19 V / 3.42 A DC power input. HDMI 2.0 supports video output at resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz, while DisplayPort supports up to 8K at 60 Hz. It also allows for a three-monitor setup connected simultaneously via HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C, making it easier to work with multiple windows, spreadsheets, creative tools, and multimedia content. The chassis also features a power button, a reset hole, and a Kensington Lock slot, which provide additional security for the computer.

Cool and Quiet, Even Under Load

An advanced cooling system with dual air intakes surrounding the chassis ensures optimal temperatures. The design provides 360° airflow, supporting efficient heat dissipation even during more intensive use. Intelligent fan control dynamically adjusts fan operation to the current workload, allowing the computer to maintain an optimal balance between temperature and noise levels. This solution promotes comfortable, long-term use, whether the M5S is handling office tasks, large data transfers, or more demanding projects.

The GMKTEC M5S’s compact design allows you to easily integrate the computer into even a small workspace. The included VESA mount allows you to attach the Mini PC to the back of a compatible monitor, so the device doesn’t take up valuable desk space and cables are easier to organize.
