The Nitecore EDC31 is a compact yet powerful tactical Everyday Carry (EDC) flashlight, officially released on January 6th, 2025. It's designed to offer a balance of high performance, versatile lighting, and robust durability for daily use and tactical situations.

Innovative Lighting System

• NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LED: The EDC31 utilizes Nitecore's proprietary 9-core UHi 20 MAX LED. This unique design features a central "Ultra Mini Main Core" for concentrated throw and is surrounded by eight smaller square emitters for wide flood illumination. This allows the flashlight to offer both focused long-range beams and broad area lighting.

• Dual Beam Functionality:

  • SEARCH Mode: Activates a tactical spotlight with up to 1,500 lumens and an impressive beam distance of 380 meters (approx. 415 yards), ideal for identifying distant objects. This mode primarily uses the central LED core.

  • LUMIN SHIELD™ Mode: Unleashes a blinding 3,500 lumens in a wide, wall-of-light flood beam, perfect for immediate threat assessment, self-defense, or illuminating a large area. This mode engages all nine LED cores.

• Multiple Brightness Levels: Beyond the special modes, it offers 4 standard brightness levels (Ultralow, Low, Mid, High) for everyday tasks, ranging from 5 lumens (Ultralow) for extended runtime up to 1,100 lumens (High).

• No Strobe Mode: Notably, the EDC31 typically does not include a traditional strobe mode, focusing instead on the LUMIN SHIELD™ as its primary disorienting output.

User Interface and Control

• Two-Stage Electronic Tail Switch: The EDC31 features a unique two-stage electronic tail switch. This allows for:

  • Full press: Turns the light on/off. When held, it activates LUMIN SHIELD™.

  • Half press: Cycles through standard brightness levels (Ultralow, Low, Mid, High). When held, it activates SEARCH mode.

  • This provides intuitive one-handed operation and quick access to tactical outputs.

• Rapid Lock™ System: A physical slide switch on the tailcap provides two lockout modes to prevent accidental activation:

  • Half Lockout: Disables constant-on modes but allows instant access to SEARCH and LUMIN SHIELD™.

  • Full Lockout: Disables all functions.

  • This system offers fast and reliable locking/unlocking.

• Mode Memory: The flashlight remembers the last used standard brightness level.

Integrated Battery and Charging

• Built-in 18650 Li-ion Battery: The EDC31 is powered by a high-capacity, built-in 3,800mAh 18650 Li-ion battery. This integrated design contributes to its compact size.

• USB-C Rechargeable: It features a convenient USB-C charging port on the body. A full charge can be achieved in approximately 1 hour 45 minutes using a 5V/2A adapter.

• Power Indicators: Four green LED indicators around the tail switch display the battery's charge level, keeping you informed of remaining power.

• Advanced Power Cut-Off (APC): This technology ensures ultra-low standby power consumption, preserving battery life when not in use.

Design and Durability

• Compact and Lightweight: With a length of 113.2mm (4.46 inches) and a weight of just 100g (3.53 oz) (including clip), the EDC31 is designed for easy everyday carry and discreet pocket stowing.

• Durable Construction: Made from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy with a HA III military-grade hard-anodized finish, providing excellent resistance to wear, corrosion, and impacts.

• Textured Grip: Features a textured body surface for a secure and comfortable grip, even in wet conditions or with gloves.

• IP68 Rating: Waterproof and dustproof, submersible up to 2 meters.

• Impact Resistance: Withstands impacts from up to 2 meters.

• Optical Lenses: Equipped with optical lenses that have a double-sided scratch-resistant coating.

• Pocket Clip and Lanyard: Comes with a sturdy pocket clip for versatile carrying options and a lanyard.

• Tail Standing: The design allows for tail standing, enabling hands-free illumination.
